CFW Activities to over 1500 Families

In many conflict-affected areas, people are forced to flee their homes and become internally displaced persons (IDPs). IDPs often face significant challenges, including a lack of employment opportunities, poor living conditions, and limited access to basic services such as healthcare and education. To address these issues, many NGOs are working to provide assistance to IDPs. One such organization is CESDO, which is implementing cash-for-work activities like bush clearing and hygiene promotion to over 1500 IDP families with the support of #SHF Donor. This also includes over 200 IDPs outside Baidoa Town in Berdale, Burhakaba, Qansaxdhere and Wajid Somalia.

Cash-for-work activities by CESDO:
CESDO is an NGO that works to promote sustainable development and improve the lives of people in need. The organization is implementing cash-for-work activities in communities hosting IDPs in order to improve their livelihoods. The activities include bush clearing, which involves removing overgrown vegetation in the community, and hygiene promotion, which involves educating community members about the importance of hygiene and sanitation.

The cash-for-work activities are designed to be inclusive and gender-sensitive. Women are encouraged to participate in the program and are provided with equal opportunities to work and earn a living. The program also promotes social inclusion and community participation, which can help to build stronger and more resilient communities.

Benefits of cash-for-work activities:
The cash-for-work activities implemented by CESDO have several benefits. First, they provide a source of income for people who may otherwise be unemployed or underemployed. This helps to improve their economic situation and reduce poverty. Second, the activities contribute to the development of community infrastructure, which can improve the overall quality of life for community members. Third, the hygiene promotion activities help to improve the health and well-being of community members by promoting good hygiene practices.

Conclusion:
CESDO’s cash-for-work activities are an important initiative that is helping to improve the lives of IDPs and their host communities. By providing employment opportunities and contributing to community development, these activities are helping to reduce poverty and improve the overall well-being of communities.
